FACT SHEETS

Mental Health Information Center Fact Sheets - Fact Sheets dealing with a range of mental health issues, with a specific focus on resources serving New York State.

Community Connections, the tri-annual newsletter of MHANYS' Anti-Discrimination Initiative, explores a different theme in each issue. Resource Lists in selected issues direct readers to Internet-accessible publications and sites that focus on various aspects of the theme in greater depth.

Resource Lists:

  • Resources on Jail Diversion - from Community Connections, Winter 2004, the "Jail Diversion" issue
  • Resources on Violence and Trauma - from Community Connections, Fall 2003, the "Violence and Trauma" issue
  • Resources for Housing Information - from Community Connections, Spring 2003, the "Housing" issue
  • Suicide Crisis Telephone Numbers for NYS - from SPEAK up, save lives, published by NYS OMH. SPEAK is a statewide public awareness and education program that is part of New York's larger suicide prevention effort. It includes information designed to help you become aware of the facts about suicide, help you become familiar with its warning signs, and show you how to help someone who may be considering suicide.

For more information, contact the Mental Health Information Center by phone at 1-800-766-6177 ext. 216 (outside of New York State call (518) 434-0439 ext. 216), or by e-mail to infocenter@mhanys.org.
