Depression Screening Tool

Taking a depression-screening test is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of clinical depression. The depression-screening test on the National Mental Health Association’s web site is completely anonymous and confidential.

The depression-screening.org web site is NOT designed to respond to suicide crisis. The screening test is intended solely for the purpose of identifying the symptoms of depressive disorders, and is not designed to provide a diagnosis for clinical depression. An accurate diagnosis for depression and other psychiatric disorders can only be made by a physician or qualified mental health professional after a complete evaluation, including a physical exam to rule out any medical illnesses or conditions.

The screening test on this site is not appropriate for, and should not be completed by, persons under age 18. Persons under age 18 with symptoms of depression are advised to talk with their parents or guardians about seeing a physician or qualified mental health professional for a complete evaluation.
