VESID
(Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals
with Disabilities)

VESID offers educational and employment services for both children
and adults with disabilities in New York State. For children,
VESID administers 15 Early Childhood Direction Centers that help
families find programs and services for their disabled child,
and oversees special education services for students in public
and private schools. For adults, VESID offers vocational assessment,
vocational counseling, assistance with transition from school
to the world of work, job training and placement, job follow-up,
and other services to support the individual's employment objectives.
VESID also administers 38 Independent Living Centers across New
York State.
